Data search and analytics from Nuix

Nuix has launched V. 6.0 of its search, e-discovery and analytics engine, which adds new data formats, languages and operating systems, as well as new ways to group and filter important data types.

The company explains for cybersecurity incident response investigations, Nuix has added the ability to search and query live Microsoft SQL Server databases and semi-structured data streams including Web and FTP server and Windows event logs and network packet capture (PCAP) files. New Document Navigator filters help to locate relevant information faster by grouping and interrogating important types of data across multiple sources. Filters include browser history, browser cache, cloud storage, instant messages, phone calls, USB devices, user accounts, network information and logs.

The company reports a new “custom processing” option makes it possible to rapidly search vast volumes of data without indexing, dramatically reducing the required storage footprint. The Nuix Engine can also selectively index and extract “named entities” from specified file types. Further, the Nuix Engine, Nuix Workbench and Nuix Management Server now run natively on Mac OS and Linux. Nuix 6.0 can also process Mac OS Parallels virtual disk images and pages, numbers and keynote files.

Nuix Workbench interface now supports Arabic, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil) and Spanish (Latin America), as well as the existing Chinese, Dutch, English, German and Japanese language versions.
