Betsy Cogliano is Manager of Information Management and Practice at the MITRE Corporation. In this role she works to provide the information architecture that enables the MITRE community to manage electronic content and to find relevant information to meet business needs. Ms. Cogliano oversees services in Search and Information Retrieval, Information Architecture, Guidance and Training, Information Policy and Enterprise Knowledge Management. She leads the KM Toolkit Steering Committee within the Center for Information & Technology, and is a member of the MITRE Information Policy and Practice Council. Current areas of interest include faceted search and navigation, the use of taxonomies and metadata tagging to improve search and navigation, and providing integrated guidance to help staff manage information most effectively. Ms. Cogliano received an MSLS degree from Simmons College, and a BS from Boston University, School of Education.
