With 15 years' experience in technology and information management, Jeff has developed a strong multi-disciplinary foundation across knowledge strategy, information architecture, content management, taxonomy, metadata and enterprise search. He is an advocate of user-centered information design and has been responsible for the strategy, development, and implementation of numerous successful initiatives both large and small across a wide range of industries.
Prior to re-joining Earley & Associates in 2014, Jeff was a Senior Technical Solutions Specialist with Microsoft responsible for working with enterprise commercial and public sector customers to promote best practices and ensure business value for investment across Microsoft productivity technologies including Office 365, SharePoint, Yammer and Enterprise Search. He continues to work closely with his Microsoft colleagues as an official Virtual Technology Specialist (V-TSP). Jeff also currently holds an Adjunct Faculty position in Columbia University's Master of Science Program in Information and Knowledge Strategy. In 2013 he was responsible for the design, development and instruction of IKNS 4302 - Findability and Innovation with Information and Knowledge Assets.
In addition to working as a practitioner, Jeff is both an author and presenter. He is a contributing writer to an upcoming book from ARK Publishing titled Knowledge Leaders on Innovation, and has written articles for a variety of online publications including AIIM, KMWorld Magazine, ASIS&T, CMSWire and NothingButSharePoint. He has spoken at many industry conferences including SharePoint Best Practices, Intelligent Content Conference, Taxonomy Boot Camp, the ICE Conference and for the Special Libraries Association, and has presented on webinars for the Taxonomy Community of Practice, Axceler, the Content Wrangler and MindTouch.
Consulting engagements include award winning projects for Applied Materials and PCL Construction, and solutions for organizations like the Alberta Government, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Cabelas, JC Penney, Walmart, Ball Corporation, Alberta Motor Association, Ford Foundation, Huawei Technologies, ICBC, Jack in the Box, Jackson Laboratory and QVC.
