Ken Wheaton has over 25 years of experience in the Information/Knowledge Management profession. Ken is a Management Consultant for Applied Knowledge Sciences, Inc. He is also the Systems Librarian for the State of Alaska Court System. As Knowledge Manager at Kalsec Incorporated Ken successfully transformed a corporate library into a knowledge center for innovation. In this position he created one of the organization's first cross-functional teams to help better align individual action plans with corporate goals and objectives. He has published his experience in a series of articles in KMWorld, LexisNexis Government Info Pro and in Information Outlook. Ken was President of the Special Libraries Association Pacific Northwest Chapter in 2012 and is an active member of Toastmasters International. Current area of study encompasses Alaska Native knowledge systems and ways of knowing. Ken holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science.
