Smarter communication

To capture its knowledge, best practices, expertise and know-how, Cossette Communication Group has deployed a knowledge management system based on TEXTML Server from Ixiasoft.

The solution provides the Canadian communications firm with a methodology for capturing, categorizing and codifying data, regardless of format, in a structured, central knowledgebase that is accessible to the whole organization. With the new system, Cossette employees have easier access to business-related information, can locate experts more quickly within the company, and are exposed to new ideas, according to a recent press release from Ixiasoft. By normalizing data in XML and indexing it in TEXTML Server, the solution provides a comprehensive knowledge center with advanced searching capabilities.

"We wanted to protect our company's knowledge and help people share experience and expertise while improving organizational performance," says Stéphane Éthier, KM director at Cossette. "We continue to be impressed with TEXTML Server's performance and ability to manipulate enterprise content. Internally, we're making huge efforts to promote this new tool to our employees because we know that knowledge management makes us smarter, more competitive and a better place to work."

"Whether they're videos, PDFs, images or word documents, Cossette's assets are now standardized in XML and managed by a native XML database, enabling them to maximize the organization's knowledge and know-how," says Jean-Paul Chauvet, VP of sales and marketing at Ixiasoft.

Cossette has 1,400 employees worldwide
