I joined Schlumberger in 1991 on the field logistics side of operations and my career took me around the world living in France, India, Norway, Malaysia and Singapore. I was responsible for offshore operations and used to handle all aspects of technical planning, client liaison, crewing and logistics. After 14 years of fieldwork I moved into knowledge management in 2005. Today I work in the corporate knowledge management and knowledge sharing team for Schlumberger. Schlumberger has a strong emphasis on connecting people together and our Communities of Practice celebrate 20 strong years in 2018. One of my key roles is to support and guide these groups so that they foster connections across the organization. Open communication and innovation between technical experts is one of the Company’s critical success factors. I am privileged to be in a unique role in the organization with frequent dialogue with business leaders and sponsors as well as operations, functions, research and development.
