Kendra Albright, Ph.D., is the Goodyear Endowed Professor in Knowledge Management in the School of Information at Kent State University. She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in knowledge management including Strategic Intelligence, Leadership, and Information Economics at four institutions in three countries. Dr. Albright’s research interests focus on the ways in which users understand and use information to facilitate positive change and solve organizational problems within the knowledge economy. Her current work focuses on two areas: 1) researching the information needs of citizens in Cleveland to improve the quality of life through smart technologies and, 2) investigating and comparing worldwide KM educational competencies and programs, developing a theoretical framework for KM practice through a systematic review process and assessing curricular areas for KM education.
Dr. Albright has served as a consultant to numerous corporations and government agencies, including the South Carolina Department of Transportation, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the University of Sheffield. She has fifteen years of professional practice prior to her work in academia, specializing in scientific and technical information and business information. Dr. Albright is widely published and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief for Libri, the international journal of libraries and information studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Communications, a Master of Science in Library Science, and a B.S. in Human Development.
