Tutorials, Technology Theater and tours at AIIM:Doculabs oversees reality-based discussions between vendors and users

Providing a credible, objective information bridge between vendors and technology users is the mantra for Doculabs (www.doculabs.com, Booth #1424) in its day-to-day operations as well as at AIIM '98.

The analyst firm will concentrate on bridging that gap with three major initiatives at AIIM: pre-conference tutorials, the Technology Theater at the Solutions Center and guided tours of the show floor.

"Through our benchmark studies and advisory services for vendors and users, our analysts have tremendous exposure to emerging technologies and important changes taking place in the AIIM community," said Tom Loeb, VP of marketing for Doculabs. "Both the Technology Theater and pre-conference tutorials enable our analysts to share their perspectives on market trends and provide an ideal forum for reality-based discussions between vendors and users about practical application of business technology."

Doculabs is conducting pre-conference tutorials on workflow and document management, which will offer information on market trends, available products and selection criteria through lab sessions and interactive presentations.

At the Solutions Center, Doculabs analysts are addressing topics, such as COLD, and allowing a handful of vendors to make short presentations. Doculabs analysts are then reviewing the vendors' products and serving as moderators for a question-and-answer session.

"The moderators help users get a more meaningful answer out of the vendors," said Loeb. "It will help to get knowledge out to constituents and people who come to the show."

Doculabs is also hosting technology tours of the show floor. "Crowds moving around from one workflow vendor to another" are likely to be with a Doculabs analyst, said Loeb.
