Making Enterprise Search Work Like Google - Q&A with Kamran Khan, President and CEO of Pureinsights
JW: So, Pureinsights is a new company, but from what I understand, you already have some early customers. What kinds of problems or challenges have you helped them solve?
KK: It's early days, but we've made some really good progress with some key customers. We're helping a learning management company provide a much richer search experience for their users. Ultimately, we will deliver them the AI technologies combined with search so that when people are using their learning management system, they're going to have a great search experience to find the content that they're looking for. We're also working with two ecommerce customers. one is in the educational space, the other is a company driving traffic to local stores. And, again, search is critical for them. Our goal is to help them with our expertise; our platform, which we're calling Pureinsights Discovery Platform; and our managed service, to take them to that level where they can delight their customers with the search experience that they have.
JW: As you look to the future, what is the impact that you want Pureinsights to have on the search technology market?
KK: We want people to not be afraid of integrating these new AI technologies: knowledge graphs, machine learning, and NLP. We can help them do that. The functionality that these things deliver, like direct answers, is key for them to stay competitive. We want to be able to bring that Beyond Search functionality to customers. Again, we're going to do that by combining expertise, technology—third-party and our own—and the managed service Enterprise SearchOps that enables us to give them a search bar and make it work like Google.
JW: Thanks, Kamran. For people want to learn more about Pureinsights, where do they start?
KK: Of course, a good starting point would be on our website, https://pureinsights.com. We have resources there that will describe in more detail what I've discussed here. We'll also be at KMWorld this year in person as a Platinum sponsor, and we'd love to see people there. Of course, you can always reach out to us via the website, if you think a conversation would be a benefit, and we can discuss your use case directly.
