Robust DM for SMBs
Xerox has introduced DocuShare Express, which offers full document management capabilities designed for the small- to medium-sized market, which the company identifies as fewer than 100 users to a maximum of 2,000.
Xerox explains the product's Web-based folders can accommodate paper and digital content ranging from scanned documents, spreadsheets and Word documents to e-mails, blogs and wikis. DocuShare Express also includes a quick install process that rapidly uploads the program and requires little technical knowledge to install, it adds.
DocuShare Express also includes a time-saving imaging and scanning feature, which enables documents to be uploaded to specific DocuShare folders using special scan cover sheets. Easy upgrades to DocuShare or DocuShare CPX allow SMBs to add more advanced content management capabilities as necessary.
Xerox has also added advanced scanning features to its entire DocuShare content management platform through an Extensible Interface Platform (EIP) connector, says Xerox's Jay Ganesh. By simply touching the screen of an EIP-enabled Xerox multifunction device, users can scan documents directly into DocuShare folders.
The EIP connector, a one-step scan solution, offers greater efficiencies and environmental gains, since paper files can be viewed, shared and searched online without further duplication or distribution.
The entry-level U.S. list price for DocuShare Express starts at $1,800 for 10 users and 10 read-only seats. It will be available through Xerox direct sales representatives and channel partners. DocuShare Express will be rolled out globally starting in September.
The EIP connector is available at no cost for DocuShare Express, DocuShare or DocuShare CPX Version 6.0 and above. It can be downloaded in September here.
