A portal with newspaper subscribers in mind
Hearst Newspapers is developing a subscriber services Web portal with a solution from Marketing G2. Hearst’s 15 newspapers will integrate Marketing G2’s Subscriber Concierge product in their websites to enable customers to manage all aspects of their subscriptions. The solution also will allow the newspapers to target promotions and communications based on customer variables.
Chris Blaser, senior VP at the San Francisco Chronicle, says, “Subscriber Concierge is an easy and cost-effective solution for automating transactions and interacting with customers and prospects. With the company’s experience and track record, we know we’ll see immediate results once the implementation is complete.”
Subscriber Concierge is supported by Open Intelligence, a marketing database from Marketing G2 that organizes complex data to make it easier for newspapers to manage customer relationships and marketing programs, according to the company. Subscriber Concierge is developed with each newspaper’s goals and circulation system capabilities in mind, and can support the service needs of an expanding landscape of content platforms, Marketing G2 says. As newspapers deliver content to mobile, tablet and other digital platforms, Subscriber Concierge can manage authentication services and provide management and support needs, the company adds.
The target date for Hearst to implement Subscriber Concierge modules across its newspapers is May.
