Cloud solution enables Omron to focus on customer base
Omron Automation Americas has moved to the cloud so it can focus on growing its customer base and positioning its brand rather than on worrying about the infrastructure of its websites. The company has selected SDL Web for Web Experience Management to build a scalable web presence.
Omron wanted an improved web presence to support current and future expansion. At the same time, company leadership was looking to adopt cloud-based solutions in their technology stack to become more agile and to hand off activities that were not core to business. With SDL Web, Omron is not only addressing its current web needs, but also equipping itself to master the operational complexity that it anticipates with the addition of new brands, products and companies in the future.
Karina Orozco, digital media manager at Omron Automation Americas, says, “We want to focus on growing our customer base and positioning Omron as a leader in industrial automation—not worrying about the infrastructure of our sites. Moving our sites to the cloud made perfect sense. Not only are we lowering the risk and cost of having to maintain these infrastructures ourselves, but also we still get full access to everything SDL Web has to offer.”
Implementation partner Content Bloom is in the final stages of migrating seven websites onto Omron’s new SDL Web platform in the cloud. It leverages SDL’s Digital Experience Accelerator (DXA) to change the way the website is built and deployed.
“The DXA framework allows the Content Bloom team to rapidly build web and mobile sites for SDL Web by providing a number of common implementation features out of the box. Another cool benefit of SDL’s DXA is that the client can now take full control of their websites and even create new ones without any involvement from technical teams,” says John Winter, principal solution architect at Content Bloom.
SDL reports that Omron also uses SDL Translation Services.
