EllisDon ramps up the accounts payable process
EllisDon has adopted intelligent capture technology to automate accounts payable documents, including more than 400,000 invoices annually. The Ontario company, which provides construction and project management services, has selected the Perceptive Capture solution from Lexmark’s Perceptive Software.
EllisDon will use Perceptive Capture initially to extract non-purchase order-based invoices, reducing the need to enter data manually and enabling rapid routing of invoice data to appropriate parties. Later, the company will focus on purchase order-based invoices, involving touchless processing of data from receipt to post.
Joe Jagodich, EllisDon VP and CIO, says, “Perceptive’s solution offered a fast, simple mechanism for viewing, correcting and validating invoice data as needed, without manual preparations. We can configure and manage the system using our own staff, resources that will no longer be tied up by manual keying and hunting for missing documents. As we shift our accounts payable to a purchase order-enabled system, we anticipate the capture technology will enable high rates of throughput—beyond what might be accomplished with greater headcount alone—as a result of its high functionality for line item capture and pairing.”
According to Perceptive Software, EllisDon also selected its software because of its effective exception handling, high rates of accurate extraction and interaction with a myriad of content repositories. Image courtest of Shutterstock
