Migrating and managing SharePoint content

Cloud services provider SherWeb has chosen a SharePoint migration solution from MetaVis Technologies. With MetaVis Architect Suite, SherWeb can migrate its customers' external SharePoint 2013, 2010, 2007 and 2003 content to its Hosted SharePoint 2013 offering.

SherWeb wanted an agentless SharePoint migration solution that would allow its existing services team to cost-effectively meet the growing number of requests from customers to migrate their external content. SherWeb selected the MetaVis Architect Suite because of its functionality and because it did not require installation or deployment of any server side controls, according to MetaVis.

Simon Langlois, SharePoint product manager for SherWeb, says, “With the MetaVis Architect Suite, we are now able to migrate new customers from any version of SharePoint at an affordable cost. Over the next year, we anticipate using MetaVis to migrate hundreds of customers to our SharePoint 2013 hosted offering. More importantly, the Architect Suite will allow us to expand our SharePoint offering over the next 12 months to include services that will help customers organize their content before they migrate to our hosted SharePoint. Migration is the perfect time to organize SharePoint content, sites, subsites, groups, permissions or metadata to make content more usable and improve compliance.”
