Searching in Muskego
The city of Muskego, Wis. has beefed up the search capabilities of its intranet and public Web sitE.
Muskego now offers citizens and visitors the ability to search and browse a wealth of information including everything from the minutes of public meetings to discount tickets through the Parks and Recreation Department. In addition, city employees can use the new information retrieval technology to search more than 70,000 documents on the city's intranet.
Muskego chose ISYS:web from ISYS Search Software after evaluating a number of products.
Joseph Sommers, Muskego's IS director, explains, "The city is dedicated to ensuring our citizens and employees have quick and convenient access to a wealth of information, whether it's a citizen interested in city ordinances or a staff member researching procedural documentation."

With the new system, users can search, sort and navigate results from standard HTML, PDF files, Office documents, e-mails, databases and more. According to ISYS, users can sort results by date, relevance or hit count, as well as leverage such features as Hit Highlighting and Hit-to-Hit Navigation to find the information that is most relevant to them.
