Siemens AG has chosen a new unified e-discovery solution as part of an in-house e-discovery expansion effort. The German-based electronics and electrical engineering company has selected Exterro’s e-discovery software suite because of its flexible platform architecture and workflow capabilities. Also, Exterro Fusion has been used successfully in the company’s U.S. affiliates.

Paul Salazar, head of litigation information management, corporate legal, litigation, at Siemens AG, says, “As a global organization, our legal team is constantly looking at ways to mitigate risks and lower costs as e-discovery demands grow requirements. We were immediately impressed with the intuitiveness, scalability and flexibility of the Fusion platform, as well as the expertise and support offered by Exterro to address our requirements.”

Before finalizing the choice, Siemens AG undertook a thorough proof of concept and hands-on evaluation to ensure that Exterro Fusion supported its global legal hold and e-discovery management processes. By leveraging the open architecture in the platform, Fusion Legal Hold and Discovery Workflow Management applications are being incorporated into Siemens’ legal IT infrastructure, which includes multiple HR and single sign-on systems and other EDRM tools.
