FTI Consulting Unveils Managed Services, Including Legal Review, for Microsoft Office 365
FTI Consulting has announced that its Technology segment will provide e-discovery and information governance managed services within a client’s Microsoft Office 365 tenant.
For organizations on Office 365, FTI Technology’s e-discovery professionals can access the company’s data via the cloud and use Office 365’s Advanced eDiscovery features for the e-discovery process, from preservation and collection through to first-pass review. According to the vendor, by keeping the data within the client’s Office 365 tenant, FTI Technology clients can reduce the cost and risk of e-discovery.
Depending on the client’s needs, the FTI Technology team can help establish and execute retention and legal hold policies, conduct the complete e-discovery process – including legal review – and perform ongoing information governance audits.
Companies frequently use multiple software applications to handle discrete steps within their e-discovery processes and this can increase the cost and risk of e-discovery, according to Jake Frazier, Leader of the IG&CS practice and a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting. Microsoft Office 365 streamlines this by providing e-discovery features across the entire EDRM (Electronic Data Reference Model) that can be used on the data where it resides.
With the advanced features offered by Office 365, such as Advanced Data Governance and Advanced eDiscovery, FTI Technology’s managed services team can search and analyze data stored in Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft OneDrive for Business and Skype for Business. Redundant data is identified and put aside with near-duplicates detection and email thread analysis. And, with predictive coding and relevance features, documents can be found and prioritized for first-pass review. If additional rounds of review are needed, the FTI Technology managed services team can also export the documents with coding decisions to traditional legal review platforms.
