Smarsh acquires Presensoft

Hosted archiving solutions for compliance and e-discovery provider Smarsh has completed the acquisition of Presensoft, a provider of cloud-based enterprise messaging compliance solutions. Presensoft offers archiving solutions used to enforce corporate security and compliance policies for instant messaging and other content types.

With this acquisition, Smarsh says, it will use the acquired intellectual property to offer its global customer base support for additional messaging types, including Microsoft Skype and QQ, within its Archiving Platform. The Integration of Presensoft services will also enable Smarsh to enhance current archiving support for public instant message channels like AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and more, including Microsoft Lync, ICE Chat, Pivot and Bloomberg.
