Windows to the cloud from Ektron

Ektron has premiered Windows Azure Edition, which allows companies to quickly launch new Web sites and marketing initiatives through the Microsoft Windows Azure platform.

Ektron explains Windows Azure is a highly scalable cloud services platform hosted through Microsoft data centers that includes a host of robust developer services. Further, the new product includes a new cloud-ready version of Ektron eSync enhanced with native support for Windows Azure, bringing its bi-directional content replication and differential deployment capabilities to the cloud. Ektron reports eSync automatically deploys only the files that have changed.

The company emphasizes the following capabilities of Ektron Azure Edition:

Marketing agility. Teams can deploy new Ektron sites and marketing campaigns on the fly without IT involvement.

Hybrid deployment. Customers can mix and match Windows Azure instances with traditional on-premise Ektron instances, thus allowing sensitive content to remain local while still benefiting from Windows Azure cloud delivery.

Dynamic elasticity. Usage of Windows Azure instances can be scheduled, permitting an Ektron site to scale on the fly when needed based on usage pattern.

High availability. The Windows Azure platform is designed for large organizations to provide maximum uptime.
