ZL Technologies Announces New File Analysis and Management Capabilities
ZL Technologies, a provider of enterprise information governance and analytics, has announced the release of ZL File Analysis and Management. The new file analysis capabilities are designed to rein in corporate file share environments by joining advanced analytics capabilities with governance architecture.
Likening a single file analysis and cleanup project to cleaning your house only once and expecting it to stay that way, Kon Leong, CEO of ZL Technologies, observed that, for long-term sustainability, file analysis must be embedded within information governance architecture.
Built on the governance foundation of ZL Unified Archive, the company says, ZL File Analysis and Management can assess massive corporate file share environments, as well as directly ingest and assign policy-based control to selected items, resulting in a file analysis environment that can provide governance, rather than simply analysis, of content. And, by allowing a wide range of flexibility in handling files and their subsequent management, the new capabilities allow large organizations to convert potentially risky, unmanaged content into an informational asset.
Key features of the offering include the ability to analyze files and directly set policies on desired content for permanent management, without having to import, export, or transfer content to a separate platform, and to locate at-risk content such as Social Security numbers, phone numbers, PII, PCI, and PHI as well as other sensitive patterns within the body of documents, which metadata analysis alone cannot detect.
