Metromile, creator of a new model of car insurance for low-mileage drivers, has implemented a cloud-based solution to streamline claims processing.

The pay-per-mile car insurance company is using the OnBase by Hyland enterprise information platform, hosted in the Hyland Cloud, to process and resolve claims faster. Metromile will integrate OnBase with Guidewire ClaimCenter and Smart Communications, combining the three insurance solutions in the cloud.

Luke Harris, director of claims at Metromile, says, “The OnBase integration for Guidewire ClaimCenter aligns with our contemporary business model and will help us deliver solutions that meet the needs of modern drivers. The enterprise scale and flexibility within OnBase also helps us drive additional efficiencies in areas outside of our claims practice, including human resources and other document-intensive administrative processes.”

The OnBase integration for Guidewire ClaimCenter helped shorten claims processes from initial claims receipt first notice of loss through resolution and settlement, according to Hyland. OnBase hosted in the Hyland Cloud provides the functionality of an enterprise information platform on a secure cloud infrastructure that incorporates enterprise content management, case management, business process management, records management, capture, secure file sharing and integration accelerators with core insurance products like Guidewire InsuranceSuite, the company reports.
