Baker Botts, an international law firm that was established in 1840 and has 725 lawyers, has gone live with a cloud-based work product management solution.

Baker Botts has deployed iManage Cloud to its 15 offices worldwide, and initial user feedback has been positive, according to iManage. The transition time was less than 24 hours over a single weekend.

Rick Boulin, chief information officer at Baker Botts, says, “Taking advantage of the cloud is key to increasing our agility as an organization and rapidly delivering the latest innovations to our stakeholders. Our implementation of iManage Cloud, managed by iManage professional services, was quick and straightforward. We went from implementation to going live in exactly 90 days.”

The implementation was seamless and did not require extensive training, iManage reports, adding that Baker Botts’ IT department has already seen quantifiable benefits from its move to the cloud. For example, the firm has removed more than 20 servers from its server bank, reducing the amount of time and effort that needs to be dedicated toward routine tasks like datacenter maintenance.

Dan Carmel, chief marketing officer for iManage, says, “Through its move to iManage Cloud, Baker Botts has given its professionals powerful functionality, delivered with unmatched agility, reliability, performance and scale—and they are already realizing the benefits, strengthening the firm’s competitive position in the marketplace.”
