A fine fit for content management
A more interactive content management system is allowing the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston to enrich its Web site content without adding staff.
The non-profit art school deployed CrownPeak's content management solution in 2004 to enrich and update the content on its site and to attract more visitors. Since implementing the system, it has expanded the content to include art galleries, opportunities for artists, course listings, calendars and faculty bios. Because the site is now continuously updated, Web traffic has increased 400 percent, according to a recent press release from CrownPeak.
"As a non-profit with a finite budget, our hands were tied when it came to the size of our Web staff," says Suzanne Liola Matus, director of communications for the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. "With only one person dedicated to the job, the biggest challenge was keeping our online content up-to-date. Today, with approximately 40 users authorized to contribute content to the Web site via the new system, our Web administrator is able to dedicate his time to keeping the site dynamic and exciting for our visitors."
Customized to meet the needs of the art school, the solution allows final edit control to be assigned to someone outside the Web staff, which eases the Web manager's workload. The newly introduced Web pages are attracting almost one-third of online visitors, and traffic was steady during the traditional slow summer months, according to CrownPeak.
