Experts at ASG Technologies talk supercharging process automation

Success in today's world demands business and technology leaders improve their responsiveness to increasing market and business volatility and regulatory (including privacy) complexity.

Improving market responsiveness, while mitigating compliance and privacy risks, has turned leaders' attention to their content-rich processes—the complex interactions their employees and customers have with content, processes, and systems.

Historically, enterprises have attempted to design and automate their content processes with a number of disparate technologies including business process management, content capture, retention, policy management, RPA, and artificial intelligence. Scaling these automation efforts often fails due to high training costs and integration challenges.

KMWorld held a webinar with Doug Johnson, VP, product management, ASG Technologies and Greg Wilson, VP, content specialists, ASG Technologies who  introduced a "governance-first" approach to content-rich process automation.

Current trends show a slow, “legacy” response to market volatility, Johnson and Wilson noted. Companies are working with fragmented it infrastructure reactive and, in some cases, costly compliance practices.

To move forward with content modernization, organizations need agile, iterative, and hyperapps (BPM, RPA, AI); data-driven experiences; and they need to take on a governance-first approach with automation, according to Johnson and Wilson.

Automating information governance with an end-to-end solution like ASG can lead to 95% accuracy with document classification, 30% less overhead to scan unstructured content at scale, and 60% cost reduction in handling customer removal requests, they said.

To address IT debt and modernize with the cloud, companies need to retain, retire, and replace. There are a few questions that IT departments should ask themselves when modernizing digital transformation: How have your infrastructure modernization projects evolved? What are Lessons learned? Are there any recent innovative technologies impacting Modernization Projects?
