SMA Technologies releases AI automation assistant Otto for OpCon

SMA Technologies, a leading provider of automation solutions for financial services and the creator of OpCon workload automation and orchestration (WLA&O), is introducing Otto, an automation assistant integrated with OpCon in the cloud that leverages the power of AI technologies from Azure and OpenAI.

Otto is introduced to cloud customers via the web-based OpCon user interface, Solution Manager, and equipped with a comprehensive knowledge base, which allows Otto to provide high-quality, conversational responses and perform automation tasks on users’ behalf, according to the company.

"We are thrilled to introduce Otto as part of our ongoing commitment to enhance the user experience and automation capabilities within OpCon,” said Ryan Dimick, chief product officer at SMA Technologies.  “Otto not only answers user questions with precision but also performs tasks, reducing manual effort and increasing operational efficiency. This is just the beginning, and we are excited about the more advanced abilities in Otto’s future."

To enable an even more streamlined OpCon experience, Otto works overtime to fill two valuable roles:

  • The OpCon Oracle: Users can interact with Otto via a new chat interface to find quick answers to all OpCon-related questions.
  • ‘Ottomation’ Assistant: At users’ request, Otto performs simple OpCon tasks, freeing them to focus on more complex automation priorities.

"The introduction of Otto marks a significant milestone in our journey toward smarter and more intuitive automation solutions,” added Todd Dauchy, CEO of SMA Technologies. “Otto embodies our innovative spirit and dedication to providing exceptional tools that simplify our customers’ operational processes. We are confident that Otto will become an indispensable resource for OpCon users."
