Aptos selects Snowflake to transform data access for its SaaS customers

Aptos, a leader in unified commerce solutions, is adopting the Snowflake AI Data Cloud in an effort to increase the ease and security in which Aptos customers access, use, and share their data. This data transformation initiative on behalf of Aptos reflects its mission to deliver unified commerce data as a modern SaaS company.

Unified commerce starts with unified data, according to Nikki Baird, vice president of strategy and product at Aptos. Adhering to this sentiment, Snowflake will serve as the foundation in which users access their transaction, orders, inventory, or customer data within Aptos solutions.

“When we first started our unified commerce journey, we had to make tradeoffs between operational insights and overall business insights—which makes it challenging to truly achieve a unified view of a retailer’s data,” said Baird, “With our data transformation, we are not only providing that unified view, we are also revolutionizing the way our customers access and leverage data. We see unlimited opportunities for retailers to visualize and analyze their unified commerce data in new and different ways.”

“We have big goals for this project that go beyond exposing the data contained in solutions in a more streamlined and extensible way,” said Baird. “We want to help retailers make meaningful data connections across solutions to understand their business at a deeper level. For example, when you think about order data contained in an OMS solution, that data has value beyond just the operational aspect of OMS. Retailers can leverage their OMS data to analyze and improve store operations, merchandise planning, allocation and replenishment, etc.”

Aptos is currently mapping its data models in Snowflake for each of its existing software applications, including POS, OMS, Merchandising, CRM, and Sales Audit. When Aptos data arrives in Snowflake, that data will be immediately available to Aptos SaaS customers. For those that already have Snowflake implemented, exporting data from Aptos’ Snowflake environment is radically simplified through one-click data sharing.

“In addition to streamlining data access and exports, our adoption of Snowflake also reduces data exposure without limiting our retail customers’ access and use of data, which aligns with our focus on robust data privacy and security,” said Tushar Sachdev, CTO of Aptos. “Overall, the benefits we’re bringing to our SaaS customers in 2025 with our unified data model are significant and differentiating. We’re excited for the year ahead.”
