TigerGraph launches Savanna, its next-gen, cloud-native graph database
TigerGraph, the enterprise AI infrastructure and graph database leader, is unveiling Savanna, the company’s next-generation, cloud-native graph database. Savanna brings TigerGraph’s graph database technology to the cloud, enabling organizations to rapidly surface relationships, analyze complex patterns, make mission-critical decisions based on high-quantity, interconnected data, and power AI systems, according to the vendor.
According to the company, the launch of Savanna extends TigerGraph’s market leadership as a provider of the fastest, most scalable graph database, powered by a Native Parallel Graph (NPG) architecture. Savanna leverages the same NPG design, which enables real-time graph updates, built-in parallel computation, and increased scalability for incredibly high performance.
Savanna is a fully distributed graph database with separation of compute and storage, which allows each resource to be scaled independently and elastically—with no size limit. Its compute resources provision 6 times faster than alternative graph database offerings, paired with the ease of not having to manage the underlying infrastructure.
“Savanna is our next generation cloud-native graph database to enable the best cost-performance and flexibility for all sorts of workloads, including real-time queries and analytics on vast, knowledge graphs that supercharge AI systems,” explained Rajeev Shrivastava, CEO of TigerGraph. “TigerGraph's on-premises database and Savanna share the same query language support and massively parallel processing. Savanna also offers the added benefit of cloud-native elasticity, as a fully managed service or deployed on the enterprise's own infrastructure (BYOC).”
Further increasing Savanna’s adaptability, the solution offers nine pre-configured kits designed for specific use cases. From transaction fraud to product recommendation, mule account detection, entity resolution, customer 360, and more, Savanna reduces setup time with “pre-configured graph schemas, sample data, a GUI to easily import their own data, and expert-written analytical queries,” noted Shrivastava.
Savanna also offers the following benefits:
- At least 25% cost savings by consuming and paying only for what is needed
- Optimized performance and management of OLTP and OLAP traffic via dedicated compute workspaces designed specifically for each workload
- 3x more data sources—including Snowflake, Spark, Delta Lake, Iceberg, and Postgres—which drives seamless, high-speed ingestion
- Wide support for query languages, including GSQL, OpenCypher, or GQL, the new ISO standard graph query language
- Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) optionality, which enables enterprises to select from a fully managed service or deploying TigerGraph on their own cloud infrastructure
“We already offer the fastest, most scalable graph database and analytics platform,” said Shrivastava. “Our Savanna cloud-native platform accelerates setup speed six-fold while providing agility in how companies consume storage, compute, and managed service options. Savanna demonstrates our continued market leadership in providing the industry’s most comprehensive enterprise-grade graph analytics. Customers turn to us for their mission critical applications where faster resolution supports business continuity and customer retention.”
