Foxit’s PDF SDK updates tackle developer frustrations
Foxit, a leading provider of innovative PDF and eSignature products and services, is debuting two new powerful PDF processing tools, Foxit PDF SDK for Desktop 10.1.0 and Foxit PDF Conversion SDK 2.1.0. Delivering advancements in compliance tooling, OCR accuracy, processing speeds, conversion workflows, and expanded APIs, Foxit’s latest solutions are driven by the real needs and frustrations felt by developers.
The Foxit PDF SDK update features a slew of new features centered around performance, compliance, and optimization. For example, the Foxit PDF SDK offers new capabilities that ensure document compliance with PDF/E and PDF/X standards; improve conversion progress tracking, output log control, and color conversion; enhance OCR with skew correction, image denoising, and multi-core processing. Some other new features include:
- Performance enhancements for optimization and form file import, increasing speed and reducing processing times from minutes or hours to seconds
- New APIs and capabilities for developers, such as regular expression search, advanced image processing, text processing, and more
- Multi-threaded conversion capabilities for Linux, driven by a binary engine (Libre Office2PDF)
- Flexible library initialization, driven by a binary engine (Foxit PDF2Office)
The latest iteration of Foxit PDF Conversion SDK 2.1.0 centers on developers tasked with complex conversion processes. With more conversion options—such as the ability to remove trailing spaces, insert page breaks, and output images during conversion—developers benefit from improved conversion flexibility. This update now also supports restricted PDF file conversion.
Foxit PDF Conversion SDK 2.1.0 also offers:
- Official integration of Foxit Office2PDF as an add-on, including new capabilities such as outline conversion in Word2PDF and workbook conversion options in Excel2PDF
- New class and API, ConvertCheckCallback, which enables more agile conversion checks
- API updates for PDF-to-Office conversions that deliver greater control over conversion processes, improving the handling of complex layouts and formatting
“These new enhancements are a direct result of staying closely connected with developers to truly understand what they need to become even more powerful in their work,” said Jeff Brand, SDK team lead, Foxit. “We’re proud to collaborate with developers at many of the leading business and government organizations around the world, whose insights had a direct impact on driving these updates. These capabilities, unmatched by any other solutions on the market, demonstrate Foxit’s commitment to remaining agile and consistently innovating to deliver tools that not only meet but exceed user expectations.”
