Microsoft’s latest sales agents accelerate and optimize sales processes

Microsoft is debuting two new agents purpose-built for enhancing sales workflows, available for both Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat in May. These agents—Sales Agent and Sales Chat—aim to transform the business process of sales with innovative automations and actionable information.

The new Sales Agent continuously improves and grows the sales pipeline by researching leads, setting up meetings, and reaching out to customers. Designed to turn contacts into qualified leads, Sales Agent helps sales reps close deals and optimize their contact opportunities. For some low-impact leads, Sales Agent is even capable of closing a sale. Sales Agent connects to a variety of data sources—from a company’s CRM to internet and Microsoft 365 data—to ensure its responses are personalized and informed.

Sales Chat surfaces crucial information—including actionable takeaways from CRM data, pitch decks, meetings, emails, and the internet—to help accelerate the sales cycle. By curating an assortment of relevant information, sales reps can get up to speed on new accounts, better prepare for customer meetings, and ultimately spend less time searching for information and more time selling, noted Microsoft. This is accessible through a natural language prompt interface, enabling reps to ask questions such as, “what should I know going into tomorrow’s meeting with this customer?” or issue tasks such as, “give me a list of deals that are at risk of falling through.”

At its core, these agents help centralize and accelerate sales activities without even opening their CRM systems, featuring connectors to both Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Salesforce, according to Microsoft. These agents can also be configured to connect to all of an enterprise's business data to drive more accurate, actionable responses.
