Access Innovations Inc. releases Version 3.17 of Data Harmony, bringing new ways to visualize taxonomies
Access Innovations, Inc. is launching its Version 3.17 update for its award-winning Data Harmony software suite, introducing knowledge maps that illustrate the links between categories and terms in a taxonomy.
“We are excited about this new way to visualize taxonomies because it shows the relationships between terms in a more compelling and understandable format,” said Access Innovations founder and chief science officer Marjorie M.K. Hlava.
According to Hlava, the knowledge maps have color-coded legends that tie to main categories of terms within each taxonomy to make them easier to decipher immediately.
Other major improvements in Data Harmony Version 3.17 include a Google Gemini integration that enables taxonomies to link seamlessly to ChatGPT for a generative AI conversational search.
Also, a new online dictionary link allows an individual who is building a custom taxonomy to look up terms without having to leave the platform in which they are working.
“All of these innovations, as well as the other improvements we have made, are designed to incorporate emerging technology and make it as easy as possible for our clients to build updated, robust taxonomies that maximize their information assets for faster and more precise search by the communities they serve,” Hlava explained.
Building a customized taxonomy with Data Hamony involves an easy, four-step onboarding process.
A client identifies the information assets they want to use and selects one or more pre-built knowledge domains from the more than 50 domains in the Access library.
Next, they integrate their information through the low code API (Application Programming Interface) of their choice or a secure FTP site.
Access Innovations’ semantic experts review the results and fine-tune the vocabulary. As the final step, the client receives the classified assets and semantic metadata that create their unique taxonomy. The straightforward process allows clients to process millions of information assets, has only low code requirements for API integration, increases search precision, and allows clients to own their metadata tags.
Because it automates building and maintenance of a taxonomy, Data Harmony increases staff productivity and accuracy and frees employees to perform other tasks, the company said.
A free trial of Data Harmony 3.17 is available by setting up a 15-minute call with Access Innovations.
