Criteria for KM Reality Award

In many organizations, knowledge management is just rhetoric. This award recognizes an organization in which knowledge management is a positive reality. The recipient of the KM Reality Award is an organization demonstrating leadership in the implementation of knowledge management practices and processes by realizing measurable business benefits. The knowledge management program will have:

  • been in place for a minimum of 18 months,
  • demonstrated senior management support, and
  • defined metrics to evaluate the program and its impact on organizational goals.

America Online for the online self-service solution it created in conjunction with KNOVA.

Blue Rhino for its process automation and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance solution delivered by Metastorm.

Boston Capital for the document imaging and content management platform developed by EMC to manage all documents associated with acquisition, development, management and disposal of housing properties.

Thacher Proffitt Wood for the legal information management and compliance solution built with the help of CA's MDY FileSurf.

Prince William County in Virginia for streamlining the personnel action form process through the implementation of the Ultimus BPM suite.

T-Mobile for its Safe Harbor powered Web self-service offering. Safe Harbor was also the vendor of choice for PLATO Learning's Web self-service system. It assisted the state of Washington's Web self-service initiative.

Hasbro for its business process management/supply chain management system developed by Lombardi

Kodak's Technical Knowledge Management team for establishing the strategy, design and development of internal content solutions.

The National Agricultural Library for the massive digitization process it accomplished with the help of ZyLAB.

Fairview Health Services for the successful upgrade of its intranet with tools and services from Stellent

The Hillman Group for its executive dashboard developed by Information Builders.

TD Waterhouse UK --[Editor's note 11/7/07- Winner] for "Project Resolve," a knowledge-driven customer service initiative using KANA IQ.

HP for its 10-year enterprisewide knowledge management initiative driven by HP Services Consulting.
