Taking control of online content

A European manufacturer of domestic and commercial water and space heating systems has launched new Web sites in the United Kingdom and Italy that use technology from Open Text.

Baxi Group has teamed with Open Text’s Web Solutions Group RedDot and business partner Freestyle Interactive to deploy the sites. The Open Text solution enables employees companywide to create, edit and approve Web content before it goes live on the site. Baxi’s marketing groups can now control all online output and messaging, thereby lowering the costs of outsourcing Web management to third parties.

Luke Vanhegan, group IT development manager at Baxi Group, says, "For a brand-led organization like Baxi Group, our online offering needs to accurately reflect our visions and corporate identity. The new-look Web site will not only enhance the way our organization communicates with consumers, installers, suppliers and specifiers, but will also dramatically change the way we approach managing our online content."

Andy Bellinger, country manager for RedDot in the United Kingdom, says, "Companies are increasingly looking for rapid, affordable and dynamic ways of delivering their corporate communications and messaging across their global Web sites, and we are confident that the new system will immediately transform the way Baxi Group does business."
