Managing digital media assets for college bookstores

Barnes & Noble College Booksellers has implemented a digital asset management (DAM) solution to support its in-store and online marketing initiatives. The company selected ActiveMedia—formerly ClearStory Systems—from FeedRoom to manage sales and marketing assets, including advertisements, brochures and other documents.

"We selected the solution for its versatility and feature set," says Janine Von Juergenson, marketing VP at Barnes & Noble College Booksellers. "Organizing our digital media assets in ActiveMedia will increase our ability to deliver critical marketing support to our strategic marketing partners and on-campus representatives nationwide, while streamlining internal processes by bringing together contributors within our marketing communications supply chain through a single online solution."

The FeedRoom, which acquired ClearStory Systems last year, reports that ActiveMedia features comprehensive workflow automation to facilitate and streamline project management and creative workflow; review and approval processes; and automated system events, asset management functions and e-mail notifications.

A privately held sister company of Barnes & Noble, Barnes & Noble College Booksellers operates more than 620 college bookstores nationwide.
