Streamlining technical documentation

Informatica has chosen a component content management (CCM) solution to help handle its shift to a structured authoring and publishing process using DITA, an XML-based architecture for authoring and delivering information.

The company has selected SDL Xysoft CCM software to help manage the company’s technical documentation, and to streamline the process and costs associated with preparing technical documentation. Informatica, a provider of enterprise data integration software and services, made the decision to move from a traditional book-based publication methodology to a more efficient process with DITA and CCM.

Robin Rielley, director of documentation at Informatica, says, “After looking at the available DITA component content management systems on the market, our team selected this solution. We were impressed with the product’s ability to support our business goals with out-of-the-box DITA capabilities and the willingness of the SDL XySoft team to support our learning curve.”

According to a press release from SDL XySoft, Informatica will leverage the integration between SDL XySoft products and SDL’s Global Information Management (GIM) offerings to attain an efficient, end-to-end global content life cycle. Informatica had previous adopted SDL WorldServer for translation management
