AutoTrader, an online automotive marketplace, has deployed software from IBM to simplify and accelerate the electronic sales ordering experience for its dealer and manufacturer customers.
AutoTrader.com is using IBM technology for Smarter Commerce, which helps organizations improve automation levels to support a customer-centric approach to commerce. With its solution, AutoTrader.com clients can better promote their vehicles to consumers, according to IBM.

AutoTrader.com is using IBM’s Sterling Commerce Configure, Price, Quote offering to simplify the configuration and capture of orders for its advertising solution. The software:
- integrates with AutoTrader.com’s homegrown applications to make it easier for customers to order cars online,
- guides a car dealership to put together an advertisement that optimizes vehicle sales, and
- helps the dealership choose the best package to reach prospective customers through context-sensitive capabilities.
