Big data analytics: TIBCO launches Spotfire 4.5

TIBCO has released Version 4.5 of its Spotfire in-memory analytics platform, which the company says further extends its visualization-based data discovery and collaboration capabilities to include all types of extreme information, including big data.

TIBCO touts the following Spotfire 4.5 capabilities:

in-memory analytics coupled with the ability to access and combine new data types;

a new application data service connector to Apache Hadoop, allowing organizations to mash up big data with that from enterprise applications;

a unified view of both structure and unstructured content;

an expanded portfolio of pre-packaged predictive methods to help anticipate business outcomes based on “data at rest” and “data in motion”;

a deployment kit for the iPad; and

real-time systems monitoring and control across multiple installations of TIBCO Spotfire Server and TIBCO Spotfire Web Player.
