Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, United Kingdom, looked at about 30 proposals before choosing a new Web content management system, based on its usability and performance, among other criteria. The university will use the platform from Ektron as the foundation for its Web engagement strategy.

Adrian Kent, head of information systems at Oxford Brookes University, says, “We wanted a Web engagement solution that showcased to the rest of the world our reputation as a premier learning and teaching institution, with an outstanding research record. Based on the criteria we set out, Ektron met all of our needs. The platform has the power, scalability and focus to help us create successful connections with our audiences.”

The university’s website is geared at meeting information needs while fostering engagement through creative use of video, graphics and design. When the site goes live on the Ektron platform in early 2013, it will be optimized for mobile technologies.
