A new approach to business intelligence
Groupe SEB, which describes itself as a world leader in small household equipment, found that users were dissatisfied with the results obtained with the business intelligence (BI) solutions it had in place.
Philippe Vivier, business intelligence expert for Groupe SEB, says, “We had to find a new solution, more user friendly and capable of handling large volumes of data with good performance, even for remote users.”
The company evaluated different options because choosing the QlikView Business Discovery platform from QlikTech, which will help Groupe SEB standardize its analysis process and measure inventory. Groupe SEB chose QlikView because it addressed its three main challenges:
- providing users with a scalable solution;
- deploying a platform worldwide with good performance, even for remote Web users; and
- developing indicators that combine data from multiple enterprise resource planning systems.
According to QlikTech, QlikView offers Groupe SEB a new approach to business intelligence and is now the platform that controls its logistics management. Groupe SEB is working on 30 QlikView applications with access to more than 800 users.
Vivier notes that simplicity of use is another benefit of QlikView. Currently the solution is being used by Groupe SEB across six continents. The company, which includes such brands as Krups and All-Clad, sells more than 200 million products per year and employs 25,000 people worldwide.
