Wiley & Sons, a publisher focusing on the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly (STMS) communities, will use a semantic content enrichment solution to leverage its archive and enhance the customer experience.

The publishing company will deploy the Luxid Platform from TEMIS to provide more sophisticated search and discovery tools for professional and academic researchers. The solution also will identify similar and related documents to encourage greater user engagement with the large scientific archive.

Patrik Dyberg, senior VP and CTO at Wiley, says, “In an age where online resources play a central role in new research, it is of paramount importance that users are able to quickly identify and access the content they need. Wiley hosts one of the world’s broadest and deepest multidisciplinary collections of online resources covering STMS research, and this partnership offers researchers new tools for using this knowledge.”

Luxid will be used to index Wiley’s massive research archive, which includes 6 million documents, and to annotate current and future information sources, including reference works, databases and Wiley’s collection of 1,500 journals.

Guillaume Mazieres, executive VP, North America operations, for TEMIS, says that Wiley will be able to “extract tremendous value from its content across products and disciplines and … deliver actionable knowledge to its customers.”
