Livelink puts knowledge to work

Open Text (www.opentext .com, Booth #1147), the rapidly growing Web-based document management company, has a chock-full schedule at AIIM built around the launch of its flagship Livelink 8 collaborative knowledge management product for enterprise environments.

Livelink 8 lets users form project teams across the organization and work together to speed product cycles, improve customer service, develop new ideas and solve problems in a rich collaboration and knowledge-sharing environment.

According to Open Text VP of Product Marketing Dan Latendre, the festivities start for his company on Sunday, May 10, when Open Text participates in the Doculabs (www.doculabs.com) document management technology tutorials. Some 250 attendees are expected at the tutorials, which run all day. After giving seminars and presentations, Open Text will join a panel of vendors taking

questions from analysts and audience members.

When the show starts on Tuesday, the company will launch Livelink 8 with the theme of "Putting Knowledge to Work" and showing how the new product delivers on that theme. There will be hourly presentations in the Open Text booth, followed by prize giveaways. There will be plenty of opportunities for one-on-one demos. Beyond that, all of the company's senior management will be on hand to answer questions from the press, customers, partners, resellers and anybody else who drops by.

Open Text will also participate in the Microsoft (www.microsoft.com) booth, where it will show how its technologies leverage Microsoft products, including FrontOffice, BackOffice, Internet Explorer, Windows NT, SQL Server and The Internet Information Server. There will also be explanations of how Open Text uses Livelink change agents with Outlook and SNMP protocols to deliver notifications.

"On Tuesday evening, we're going to be having a launch reception," Latendre added, saying the company sent invitations to its entire customer base, as well as analysts, resellers and the press.

"Also during the show," he said, "we're going to be working with Doculabs in its Technology Theater, which will feature vertical market-based panel discussions and case studies throughout the show. We'll be doing presentations on how Livelink has been implemented by our customers in the various vertical markets. We will also be part of a panel discussion."

After the panel discussion, the Open Text booth will be one of the stops of a tour that includes more detailed presentations at the booths of technology theater participants.
