New SharePoint governance, compliance tool from MetaVis

MetaVis has introduced Informant for SharePoint, described by the company as agentless software engineered to find and secure information such as personally identifiable information (PII), human recourse information or project data in SharePoint, Office 365 and file systems. As a result, says MetaVis, Informant allows organizations to further enforce compliance policies and efficiently mitigate risk in their SharePoint or Office 365 deployments.

In addition to Office 365 and SharePoint 2013, Informant supports all previous versions of SharePoint, Dropbox and File Systems. MetaVis says support for Google Docs, Amazon S3, Azure, Exchange and Outlook is expected to be added over the next few months.
