A cloud-connected Web platform meets a startup’s needs

La Koketa, a product of tech startup Trendsta, targets tech-savvy young women who use the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, and who are active in the major social networks. The product is a mobile wardrobe and stylist app that connects with online retailers.

Trendsta wanted a Web presence to market its app and engage its audience, as well as a backend system to manage user profiles and data. The challenge was to create a single, integrated platform that could provide that functionality, without unreasonable technical burdens or costs. The company considered building a custom platform or identifying a CMS that could meet its needs.

Gergana Georgieva, CEO of Trendsta, says, “We were faced with writing the Web application from scratch or using one of the popular content management systems, all of which are like black boxes that cannot be easily extended. However, the wide scope of requirements and the tight deadlines called for a sophisticated and flexible system that could accommodate a number of different needs.”

The La Koketa Web site and frequently updated blog can be managed easily by business users with Sitefinity’s Web content management capabilities, according to Telerik. And the La Koketa team can promptly update news articles and PR pieces, create marketing promotions and tell users about application updates and new features.
