Data that is initially not searchable—such as ZIPs, bitmaps or multimedia—can then be made searchable, and legal departments can search whatever they want, whenever they want, without any restriction. Although the redundant storage may sound a bit awkward, this approach is often the most pragmatic and in the long term proves to be the most cost-effective solution for such proprietary archives.
